Recruitment and Selection

Recruitment. Recruitment is the process of identifying a gap in the company’s operation and identifying the skills needed to fulfill the gap for the company to operate effectively and efficiently. This process has 5 key features: attracting, interviewing, identifying, selecting, and hiring an individual to be a part of a company’s workforce. According to (Arthur, 1998), a group of individuals consisting of managers and human resource specialist involves in understanding future job openings and hiring with a combination of apprehension and excitement. (Arthur, 1998) states that the labor pool in which the employers select new employees changes at every level from skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled. A company needs to understand the expectations of tomorrow's workforce when hiring the type of employees needed.
